Connecting all of the above-mentioned modules – design, delivery and feedback – we have the soft skills that support implementation. The concept of emotional intelligence, now part of most training for leaders and all sort of professionals dealing with people, includes self and other consciousness (empathy) and also self-regulation, and relationship regulation.
The importance of these skills is such that they are beginning to be known as professional skills, and most training for teachers will include this topic. NDA has been offering training in this area of knowledge for over ten years, starting with the training for tutors, and has been considered pioneer in this area in Portuguese higher education.
Training in professional skills incorporates:
- Communication skills in general, including assertiveness, use of voice during classes and proper use of audiovisual media in communication situations, including science communication
