Complementary activities were evolved by NDA in order to foster development, including the observation of classes (LINK), both by NDA team members and by participating in the Observar & Aprender project – https://sites.google.com/site/observareaprender/. Based on class observations and feedback, NDA expert members can coach teachers into changing their practices.
If you would like one member of the NDA team to observe one or more of your classes (theoretical, practical or laboratory), please email nda@tecnico.ulisboa.pt . Your request will be reviewed and the observation scheduled according to the availability of the team members.
Based on the classroom observations (and consequent feedback) and the needs identified by the teachers, NDA can also provide personalized coaching activities geared to changing pedagogical practices within each of the training areas.
Best practices within IST faculty (Interviews to best teachers and Dissemination of Innovation in Pedagogy Projects – at the moment only available in portuguese) and in Engineering Schools of reference are disseminated through the NDA homepage https://nda.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/ and QUC homepage http://quc.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/ .
The collection and dissemination of current research and support materials on relevant topics is also carried out and periodically updated on the above channels (see Teaching Resources http://quc.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/en/recursos-para-a-docencia/ ) as well as the dissemination of other training and development activities of interest to the community:
- IST training activities of interest to Teachers and Researchers, including activities promoted by the IST Library [LINK]
- Training activities promoted by international organizations, such as IEEE
- Training activities and events promoted by national organizations, such as CNaPPES
Other support activities can be developed in the future, for instance, the building of communities of practice among IST teachers, and online courses.
